imagiNorthern is developing a Northern Arts Summit in Churchill around the theme Arts Growing Alongside Industry, coinciding with Churchill’s Winterruption arts and wellness programming.
As major investment and development reshape Northern Manitoba, the Summit will bring together artists, cultural workers, community leaders, industry representatives and partners to explore a central question: how can arts and culture grow alongside economic and industrial development — and help Northern communities shape that growth?
The Summit is being planned as a mix of conversations, workshops, professional development, performances and community experiences, creating opportunities for Northern artists and organizations to build skills, relationships and new cross-sector partnerships.
Planning is currently underway. Funding applications have been submitted and potential arts, community and industry partners are being engaged to help shape the program and identify opportunities for collaboration.
The Summit builds on imagiNorthern’s previous Northern gatherings and its broader strategy of strengthening connections, skills and economic opportunities across Northern Manitoba.
